Local nonprofit Fearless Kitty Rescue recently received a $5,000 grant to build an outdoor “catio” for its medical center in Fountain Hills.
The grant came from Best Friends Animal Society, according to a press release. The outdoor catio will give recovering cats safe access to fresh air, sunshine and enrichment year-round in a completely enclosed space that is predator-proof.
Eagle Scout Arshvir Alwadi of Troop Unit 531, Grand Canyon Council will help with enrichment on the inside of the catio once it is built to earn his Eagle Scout badge.
