I am writing to urge the voters of Fountain Hills to elect Ginny Dickey as their next Mayor. Ginny’s more than 20-year involvement as a school board member and town councilwoman produced many noteworthy accomplishments, and she has proven herself time and again as a focused and motivational leader.
As the school district’s superintendent for four years (1998-2002), I can attest to her facilitative, communicative and inclusive approach which allowed us to meet many challenges and grow into a superior, highly performing district.
As a school board member, Ginny worked diligently to ensure a comprehensive curriculum for all students that pushed them to exceed state standards and top Arizona’s high school graduation rates. She advocated throughout the community for the bond issue that built Fountain Hills Middle School, providing a state-of-the-art campus for our adolescents and dramatically improved the Four Peaks campus.

With a desire to contain costs appropriately, she supported the closure of the original School District Office and leased the facility for community support programs. A key feature of her tenure on the board was a relentless drive to improve teacher salaries, and with that teacher and administrator retention; both of which were accomplished.
As a leader and team builder, Ginny is a superb listener and communicator. She seeks consensus in all situations and she is fearless when it comes to pursuing a cause she knows is right. ln my eight years of working with her, I never saw her back away from a challenge, but instead saw her lead the board to solutions that consistently made Fountain Hills’ students the first priority and supported the district’s staff in doing their jobs to meet that priority.
Everyone’s voice counts to Ginny. She aims only for excellence, and I think she achieves it.
