The Fountain Hills Elks Lodge is organizing a fun fundraising golf tournament at Desert Canyon Golf Club on Saturday, Nov. 14.

The cost is $80 and includes cart, practice balls, and lunch following at the Elks Lodge.

The shotgun start time is 8 a.m. with sign-in beginning at 7:15 a.m. The format is a four-person scramble. If you cannot find four people sign up anyway and organizers will help you complete a foursome. There will be varied prizes for longest drive, putt, ethics award, etc.

All proceeds from the golf and hole sponsorships will go to support the lodge’s children’s Christmas shopping spree (Elks take 30 local children shopping for clothing and needed personal items and then lunch with Santa) and local veterans.

If not a golfer, one can still support the event by being a hole sponsor for $50. This will have your name, personal or business, listed at the course, signs posted at the lodge, and thank yous in The Times.

The lodge also is accepting donations that can be used in the raffle or for prizes. Donations can be delivered to the lodge or picked up by calling Jody.

Make checks payable for the golf or the sponsorships to Fountain Hills Elks Lodge #2846. Specify the names of each golfer, or what exactly you want printed on your sign. You can mail the checks and this information to Jody Knapp, 15735 E. Sunflower Dr. Fountain Hills, AZ. 85258. There are also forms available at the lodge on Tuesday, Monday or Friday nights. All questions answered by calling Jody at 602-363-5239.

“This has always been a fun and rewarding event,” Knapp said. “Please participate in any way you can to help our local children and veterans.”
