A giant dust storm blew through Fountain Hills mid-afternoon, followed by small amounts of rain.
Some humidity will continue through the weekend, but thunderstorm chances will diminish, said the National Weather Service.
Sunny skies and hotter temperatures are expected to come to the Valley for the weekend, the Weather Service said. Saturday’s high is projected to be 106, with afternoon humidity levels falling to the mid to low 20s.
A high of 109 and light afternoon winds are expected for Sunday.
Chances for storms increase as the business week starts up again, with the NWS predicting a 20 percent rain chance for Monday night and Tuesday. Temperatures should fall to the lower 100s by Tuesday.
