What are people who tell you they can save you from the results of their mistakes, costly behavior, beliefs and political positions?
A little research for the term or word that might qualify as a definition for those who believe they are smarter in their errors than the rest of us when we are lucid. I ran into terms like bigot, pompous, narcissistic, vain, etc. But nothing conclusive. An unfinished puzzle. Any ideas?
I thought examples might spark an answer. The government sequester came to mind. Reducing government spending that didn’t work and then telling us how bad the plan was and how they should be allowed to fix it their way. Signing the healthcare law before it’s finished and finding it’s unworkable. Then requesting the freedom to bypass those with differences and legitimate questions. Still an incomplete puzzle. Why won't we stop them?

Then one day I overheard some young pre-teen girls talking. One of the girls commented how there is this boy who thinks he’s so cool and that he knows everything but that he is really “just
a complete doofus.”
Doofus: a foolish, stupid, incompetent person. Eureka, the puzzle is complete. So, who is someone who claims he or she can save us from their reckless behavior?
You got it, a doofus. My, my from the mouths of children. Where’s our clarity of thought?
Journalist Charlie Reese: “Government is inherently incompetent, and no matter what task it is assigned it will do it in the most expensive and inefficient way possible?
Can you think of anyone who qualifies as a doofus and a poster child for Reese’s government?
It’s obvious to me that we are being tormented by arrogance promoting ignorance. If we accept being led by doofuses, what does that make us?
