Ms. Donna Jean Ryan, born April 1, 1934 in Lansing, Mich., passed away at age 84 on Oct. 16, 2018 in Mesa, Ariz. Donna was a 36-year resident of Fountain Hills, having moved to town in 1981.
She was the “hostess with the mostest” at her family-owned restaurant, “The Village Pub,” from 1981 to 1998. She also worked at PCS, the Fountain Hills Chamber of Commerce, Fountain View Village and volunteered with the Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church for many years.
In her later years, Donna could be found in her scooter watching her great-granddaughters’ soccer, softball and basketball games. Through the good and the bad, she was an avid Phoenix Suns fan. She was a loving, kind and caring friend, daughter, mother, grand-mother and great-grandmother. Donna lived a full and happy life and is dearly loved and missed by all that knew her.
Donna is predeceased by her son, Donald “Butch” Ryan and husband, Donald Ryan. Donna is survived by her daughters, Diane Scribner (Peter), Sue Blazekovich (Richard) and Danita Watts (Joe); grandchildren, Kelly Lesnick (Thomas), Angela Coughlin (Timothy), Susan Pugh (Robert), Sara Shelby, Kathryn Shelby, Daniel Ryan, Dale Watts and Michael Blazekovich; and great-grandchildren Gabbi Coughlin, Alexis Scribner, Madison Scribner, Sydnie Pugh, Keyon Kidd, Keshon Kidd, Kristian Kidd, and Henry Ellis.
Friends and family are welcome to attend her memorial service on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 11 a.m. at Fountain Hills Messinger Mortuary, 12065 North Saguaro Blvd., Fountain Hills.
