The recent comments regarding my letters to the opinion column regarding the ACA are an example of why the tea partiers will never last as a political group.
The manipulation of the statements and facts I wrote are ridiculous. I did not state my business had, or ever has had, a junk insurance policy. The health care spending has risen by only 1.3 percent a year since the passage in 2010. And the actual rate of the United States’ inflation between 2008 and 2011 was 4.5 percent, not 28 percent.
Regarding my savings on health care costs related to the Affordable Care Act…I looked at all the costs, including my deductible and copay, before making my choice. The $300 monthly savings I stated included these factors.

When making a financial decision regarding the bottom line, I include all the monetary issues. This is why, even in the tough economic conditions resulting from the cost of two wars started and never paid for by the Bush administration and the financial meltdown of Wall Street resulting in the great recession, also caused by the Bush administration, my business continues to thrive.
I am capable of looking at the political and financial issues related to the bottom line of my business before making any decision.
If I truly thought the tea partiers had anything worthwhile to say regarding the economy or future of the American business community, I would be the first one through the door at your monthly gatherings.
The tea party’s 16-day government shutdown in October delivered a massive $24 billion hit to the U.S. economy. The only goal of the extreme right wing is to disrupt and ultimately do away with the government set up by our founding fathers. The first rule of governing should be “first do no harm.”
