Thank you, SRP and The Fountain Hills Cultural and Civic Association, for hosting Tuesday’s mayoral debate.
Quite frankly, it was disappointing; Cecil Yates was prepared but Ginny Dickey was lost without referring to notes. Some of her answers were canned and incoherent. She just couldn’t put it together; sad.
More disappointing than Dickey’s performance was the juvenile audience “booing” during the back and forth bantering by the candidates. I was also surprised to learn that Dickey was instrumental in wasting $180,000 for a report on moving the new fire station to Shea Boulevard; that makes the lagoon criticism seem small. Sometimes good people err; it's life.

Cecil Yates is much better qualified for the mayor’s office. Please support Joe Arpaio for the Senate; Fountain Hills should be behind him 100 percent. There is no substitute for loyalty.
