Dire situation

I’m sure that the letters to the editor will be blowing up this week, just as it has been on social media concerning the last town council meeting in which Councilman Spelich addressed the situation within our town of the decaying town-owned buildings and, of course, our streets.

Councilman Spelich laid out a plan that would eliminate these problems and allow the town to pace itself back into good condition.

Dire situation

Posted

I’m sure that the letters to the editor will be blowing up this week, just as it has been on social media concerning the last town council meeting in which Councilman Spelich addressed the situation within our town of the decaying town-owned buildings and, of course, our streets.

Councilman Spelich laid out a plan that would eliminate these problems and allow the town to pace itself back into good condition.

If anyone would take the time to actually listen to Councilman Spelich’s plan and understand the dire situation of the condition of the town buildings that have fallen into disrepair, and take into consideration that the town residents have voted down a permanent primary property tax several times because they do not want the burden of another lifelong tax that can be raised every year. Some of the council members want to put it on the ballot again.

Listen to Councilman Spelich’s plan and send him your concerns and ideas. I know from experience, he will be very happy to address your questions and concerns: dspelich@fh.az.gov. We do not want a permanent primary property tax. This is an opportunity to address the town’s situation without a tax. I for one will stand in line to give my check to repair our town and avoid a permanent primary property tax.

This would be a vital time to regain our trust in how our current town council utilizes the funds. I want to see the difference in our buildings, parks and streets. I say let’s do it! God bless our town.
