Deputy receives VFW recognition

The Fountain Hills Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7507 has recognized Maricopa County Sheriff’s Deputy Jason Porter for his service in the community with its “Deputy of the Year” award.

Porter has been with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office for four years, working two as a detention officer before transferring to patrol in District 7 out of Fountain Hills.

District 7 Commander Capt. Joe Rodriquez said Porter has been recognized as Deputy of the Quarter in the district on two occasions this past year and is a consistent leader in arrests for the district.

The Fountain Hills Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7507 has recognized Maricopa County Sheriff’s Deputy Jason Porter for his service in the community with its “Deputy of the Year” award.

Porter has been with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office for four years, working two as a detention officer before transferring to patrol in District 7 out of Fountain Hills.

District 7 Commander Capt. Joe Rodriquez said Porter has been recognized as Deputy of the Quarter in the district on two occasions this past year and is a consistent leader in arrests for the district.

Currently Porter is assigned to the “Power Squad,” which has been responsible for an average of 25 arrests over the past three months. Many of those arrests involve drugs and burglary.
