Decency

I experienced a unique Christmas gift last Tuesday evening while volunteering at our Fountain Hills bookstore.

I had totaled the money brought in for the day. A gentleman walked in to purchase four magazines for one dollar; all he had was a twenty dollar bill. Being a regular customer, I said take the mags and pay at a later date.

Locking the door about 6 p.m.; the gentleman hollered my name waving a dollar bill, “I got change at Bashas’!” I sometimes think people overlook the decency and kindness that is so prevalent amidst the people around us.
