Deborah Ann Kern, age 67, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on April 9, 2016. Deb was born in Elmhurst, Ill., and grew up in Mount Prospect, Ill., where she met the love of her life, Jack. They raised their family in Downs, Ill. until 2013, when she and Jack moved to Rio Verde, Ariz., to enjoy the later years of their life golfing and enjoying the Southwest as they had done for so many years before.

Deb is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 48 years, Jack, son Justin of Mesa and daughter Jackie and her husband, Jonathan, of Boulder, and granddaughters Bena and Lily, and her brother, Pete, and his wife, Lin, of Hillsboro, Ohio. She was an amazing wife, mother, sister, nana, aunt and friend to everyone who came into her life.

She adored her family – spending time with her friends and family warmed her heart. Her laughter and bright blue eyes lit up the room. Deb cared deeply for everyone she knew, whether you were her family, friend or a member of the community. She was always willing to help out someone in need.

She had an immense heart, and her house was always filled with friends and family. She was a generous, loving, supportive and unselfish woman who always put other people before herself. She was charitable, giving, considerate and kind and was always involved in giving back to community she lived in.

Deb’s passion for decorating and gardening was evident to everyone who witnessed her creativity. She took great pride in her flowers and design, and loved spreading her passion to others.

The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers and support in many heartfelt forms from too many people to name individually. She has touched the lives of so many people and even though she is gone, her memory will live on in all of our hearts forever.

Deb was so proud of her work with the Verde Community Christmas Project, Inc. If would you like to make a donation in honor of Deb, please consider this wonderful organization. Private services will be held with family and friends.
