Political wisdom might dictate that an incumbent office holder may disregard a write-in candidate and refuse to acknowledge or debate the challenger. However, one’s genuine concern for their constituency and a confidence in their views would dictate otherwise.

I am hoping Mayor Kavanagh will give Fountain Hills’ citizens a real chance to have a choice in this election.

When I ran for Town Council several years ago we had, as I recall, four forums with all candidates and weekly articles to write for the paper. When all was said and done, everyone knew our positions.

Political wisdom might dictate that an incumbent office holder may disregard a write-in candidate and refuse to acknowledge or debate the challenger. However, one’s genuine concern for their constituency and a confidence in their views would dictate otherwise.

I am hoping Mayor Kavanagh will give Fountain Hills’ citizens a real chance to have a choice in this election.

When I ran for Town Council several years ago we had, as I recall, four forums with all candidates and weekly articles to write for the paper. When all was said and done, everyone knew our positions.

I hope that Mayor Kavanagh will change her mind and consent to debate the write-in and superbly qualified candidate, Ginny Dickey.
