Keynote speaker Mayor Linda Kavanagh talked about women veterans. She said that although women have only been able to enlist in the military since 1949, they have made major contributions in serving on and around the battlefield since the Revolutionary War.
Fountain Hills VFW Commander Phil Yin talked about the debt the American public owes to its military veterans.

“We must, must show our appreciation in any way possible,” Yin said.
