Day for Kids on Saturday
Plenty of smiles
Posted
The fourth annual Day of Play and Day for Kids will be staged at one venue this year – Fountain Park.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, in the “great lawn” area north of Plaza Fountainside and along Saguaro Blvd.
Some activities will be held near the Rotary Splash Pad as well.
The Town of Fountain Hills, all Kiwanis groups, Rotary Club and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale McKee Branch are teaming up to offer the carnival-themed adventure.
There will be plenty of inflatables, interactive games, face painting, free hot dogs and refreshments and more at the fun-filled event.
Nickelodeon helps sponsor Day of Play on a nationwide basis, urging kids to get out and play that day. The cable channel goes dark for several hours that day in honor of the event.
“Day for Kids” is the Boys & Girls Clubs nationwide version of the same celebration.
Besides the McKee Branch of Boys & Girls Clubs, other groups assisting with the event are Fountain Hills Rotary Club, Noon Kiwanis Club, Sunset Kiwanis Club, Key Club, Builders Club and K-Kids.
