David, 83, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and innovation.
Born on April 12, 1941, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, he was the son of David Lloyd James and Lillian Rees Yorgalach. A proud U.S. Air Force veteran, he served his country with honor. His dedication to service continued throughout his life, not only in his professional endeavors but also through his tireless volunteer work. Being a leader and entrepreneur.
Dave built a distinguished and successful career in the banking and financial industry. He was also an inventor, holding patents for several innovative processes that helped shape the industry. His sharp mind and forward-thinking approach left a lasting impact on both his colleagues and the businesses he worked with.
A passionate volunteer, Dave dedicated much of his time to serving others. In his most recent endeavor, he implemented a nonprofit, SAWs Southwest, Inc., where volunteer teams built wheelchair ramps in Arizona for low income, disabled individuals, ensuring that many had better access to and from their homes. His selfless contributions to this organization and others testified to his character and commitment to making the world a better place.
Dave was a devoted family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara, his children David James (Tracey), Christina Efaw (Brad), Lisabeth Muldowney, and Jason James (Nicole). He was also loved by 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. His family was his greatest joy and he cherished every moment spent with them.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests you consider a donation to SAWs Southwest, Inc., through The Fountains, a United Methodist Church, 15300 N Fountain Hills Blvd, Fountain Hills, AZ 85268, a cause dear to Dave’s heart.
Dave’s kindness, generosity, and unwavering dedication to his family and community will be deeply missed. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at The Fountains, a United Methodist Church in Fountain Hills, Arizona, on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at 1:00 pm.
