David A. Rubie, 71, of Fountain Hills passed away peacefully at his residence on Oct. 10, 2018. His wife, Peggy, was with him.

David was born on April 19, 1947 in San Francisco, Calif. to Harvey and Juanita

Rubie. Dave proudly served his country in 1966 in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. On Oct. 13, 1979 Dave married the love of his life, Peggy

(Johnson).

David was an energetic go-getter who loved working on numerous projects. He was an independent car broker and was always working on a car deal. His lifelong

love of animals led him to bring home numerous stray pets to become his best buddies.

He lived life on his own terms and was always willing to help others with any problem or concern. He especially loved spending time with his beloved

grandsons, Jack and Jesse.

He was a devoted Christian and gave freely of himself to others, lending a helping

hand or giving much sought-after advice to many.

David will be truly missed by his wife, Peggy; his son, Nick and his wife, Christine Rubie; twin grandsons, Jack and Jesse Rubie of Albuquerque, N.M.; brothers, James

and his wife, Amber Rubie of Corning, Calif., Steve and his wife, Nancy Rubie of Gridley, Calif.; sisters, Janet Tranchina of Gridley, Calif., Jeanne and her husband, Skip Smith of Pacifica, Calif.; sister, Diane and her husband, Bert McCollam of Lincoln, Calif., and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Dave’s life and a time to share memories will be held on Friday, Nov. 9, 2018 at North Chapel Bible Church, 17210 E. Amhurst Dr. Fountain

Hills, AZ 85268, at 4:30 p.m.

Because of Dave’s love of animals, those planning an expression of sympathy are

asked to consider a donation to your local rescue or animal shelter.
