David A. Drentlaw

David Allen Drentlaw, 74, of Fountain Hills, passed away Feb. 3, 2015.

Dave was born in Northfield, Minn. Feb., 17, 1940. Dave is survived by his wonderful wife, Kathy, whom he spent the last 27 years with. He is also survived by his children: Bill and wife, Shirley, John and wife, Leslie and Drew; stepdaughters, Carrie, Jennifer and Traci as well as his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dave was an only child of Leslie and Gertrude Drentlaw, who preceded his death.

Services will be held for Dave at Shepherd of the Hills Church, 16150 E. El Lago Blvd, Fountain Hills, on Thursday, Feb. 19, at 11 a.m. with reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers please send memorial donations to AMVETS Post 7, 17030 E. Enterprise Dr., Fountain Hills, AZ 85268 in honor of Dave Drentlaw, who was a member as

well as a loyal patron.

Dave’s higher education included St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn. and Minnesota School of Business. In 1964 he was accepted into the Minnesota National Guard Military Academy and provided years of service with honor.

Dave enjoyed basketball, handball and golf throughout his younger years.

Dave owned Drentlaw Realty where he became an appraiser of homes. After retirement, he moved to Fountain Hills, where he spent his last 17 years spending time with his wife, friends and grandchildren as well as contributing to many different charitable organizations, some including Disabled American Veterans, National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, U.S. Deputy Sheriff’s Assn., Crisis Nursery, NRA, AMVETS Post 7 and many more.

Dave was a kind-hearted man with a love of crafting wooden frames, corkboards and various other creations. He also enjoyed taking vacations to Alaska and visited Minnesota often. He was loved by many and we will hold him deep within our hearts forever.
