Dark Sky Discovery Center in Fountain Hills heading toward opening

Announcement of donation progress

International Dark Sky Discovery Center officials in Fountain Hills have announced a total of $21 million in donations to the project with roughly $7 million yet to be raised to meet the $28 million goal for the opening of the science discovery center.

The exterior of the building will be completely finished by summer, and it is being announced that key areas including the observatory will be ready to open in the fall of 2025.

To make that possible additional donors have acquired naming rights to components of the facility and those are being announced. Those include the Dave Kloeber Family Observatory Control Room, Beth and Dave Pojman Observatory Gallery, Jackie Miles Private Stargazing Terrace, Jenniver V. Flick Event Horizon Lobby, Jerry and Jackie Miles Pluto Snack Station and the Lynne and Steve Swensen Conference Room.
