Vice President Dana Saar resigned from the Fountain Hills Unified School District (FHUSD) Governing Board, effective Thursday, Nov. 9.
His resignation comes two days after the failure of the FHUSD bond measure on Election Day, but Saar said he would have resigned no matter what the outcome had been.
Saar has been a resident of Fountain Hills since 1982 and served on the board from 1996-2010 and 2021 until his resignation. He was an elected member of the Maricopa County Community College Board for 10 years in between and he plans to make his second home in Heber-Overgaard his legal residence after resigning.
