The 11th annual Tour de Scottsdale, presented by Lexus, is Sunday, Oct. 12. The event kicks off at Market Street in DC Ranch, which is located near the southeast corner of Pima Road and Thompson Peak Parkway in Scottsdale. The event features a 70-mile and 30-mile citizen’s ride.
The 70-mile ride runs through the Verde Communities and into Fountain Hills before turning back to Scottsdale along Shea Boulevard. Motorists traveling in the area Sunday morning should be on the lookout for cyclists riding through town.
Instead of biking through town on Saguaro Blvd. to Shea, they will be turning onto Palisades Blvd. and exiting Fountain Hills on that route. An aid station will be set up near the high school.

The event beneficiary is the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy, a nonprofit conservation organization in Scottsdale that protects and promotes the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. The Tour de Scottsdale event is capped at 2,000 cyclists.
