Crying shortfall

Per Fountain Hills Times article on May 1, 2019: The town is budgeting for five new employees, going from present 56 to future 61 employees. And this while continuing to cry shortfall, shortfall. Something is very seriously wrong in the town again.

Public corporations rank their employees’ earning power for the corporation by dividing the number of employees it has into the gross profit it has earned in dollars in one year.

Doing that same calculation for the municipal corporation, Fountain Hills, is quite revealing. $32 million dollars (present budget) divided by 61 employees for Fountain Hills yields about $500,000 dollars per year for each employee. Meaning, as a ranking of earning power, each new employee would have to add $500,000 dollars to the resources of the town.

Crying shortfall

Per Fountain Hills Times article on May 1, 2019: The town is budgeting for five new employees, going from present 56 to future 61 employees. And this while continuing to cry shortfall, shortfall. Something is very seriously wrong in the town again.

If the town is having a shortfall, how is it putting on five new employees? And are those five new employees going to earn $2.5 million dollars for the town? Not hardly, in the furthest stretch of their imagination.

What the town is really doing is putting on five new salary expenditures and building their governmental pyramid. By putting on five new employees the town is saying they do not have a shortfall. This is their double speak, at its finest from the town. And their crying shortfall is really crocodile tears.

Their supposed shortfall continues to be called into question. And as an earlier writer to the editor state, “the town council is veracity challenged,” or they are playing the chicanery card.
