Councilman Skillicorn does not serve the people of Fountain Hills

Posted

Fountain Hills Councilman Allen Skillicorn applied for appointment to the vacant position of constable by the County Board of Supervisors. If selected, he would have had to resign from the town council. However, he failed in his effort to abandon Fountain Hills and was not chosen.

It is still his intention to move on from Fountain Hills politics, as Skillicorn filed a “Statement of Interest” months ago to run for constable in 2026. Really, I feel he abandoned Fountain Hills long ago.

Since being elected to the town council he has avoided serving on committees and boards, given lip service to his top campaign issues, and repeatedly lobbied against the town's best interest at the State Legislature, via social media and dubious media outlets. Like that old Eagles song, he is “Already Gone.”

He should take his premature disinterest in us off the dais right now by stepping down to open the seat for someone who is present and committed to our hometown, maybe someone who has volunteered and been here more than a minute. Someone who respects staff and colleagues, and all their constituents.
