The Feb. 6 Fountain Hills Town Council meeting broke into a fractious exchange between Councilman Gerry Friedel and a citizen who had called out Councilman Allen Skillicorn during the call to the public portion of the meeting.
Pam Cap used the open forum to challenge Skillicorn’s fitness and question his use of social media to degrade members of the LGBTQ community, of which a group of about 20 including supporters were in attendance at the council meeting. There were about six individuals in the group who addressed the council directly.
“(Skillicorn) is promoting Fountain Hills as homophobic and has only brought negative attention to the community,” Cap said in her statement.
