The Town Council has agreed to release $79,577 to the Summit at Crestview Condominium Association to complete work that the developer left unfinished.
As a final plat requirement for the Summit at Crestview, the town held a $135,000 subdivision improvement bond from Arch Insurance.
When the developer, Odyssey Homes, citing financial issues, walked away from the project it left a number of “punch list” items unfinished.
The town has since withheld building permits for work in the subdivision until the punch list items are complete. The town came to an agreement with the Summit at Crestview Condominium Association, allowing the group to complete the work.
Much of the unfinished work applies to common areas and safety concerns.
The town had made a claim for the $135,000 bond being held by Arch Insurance and the company rejected that claim. However, following lengthy negotiations with the insurance company a settlement for the $79,577 was agreed upon.
The town will use that settlement money to pay contractors hired by the condo association. When the work is complete the town will begin to issue building permits for lots in the subdivision.
The Summit at Crestview is located off Palisades Boulevard just north of Shea. It is a condominium component within the Crestview subdivision.
