Council meets Thursday, Jan. 16

The Town Council has a relatively routine business-like agenda set for this Thursday, Jan. 16.

The council will consider the appointment of two citizens to serve on the Board of Adjustment for two-year terms.

There is also a resolution to be considered that adopt operating policies for the Community Center.

Town Manager Ken Buchanan will update the council on the progress in implementing the council strategic plan goals and operational policies for the current fiscal year.

There will also be a discussion regarding the strategic planning goals and operational priorities for the upcoming 2014/2015 fiscal year.

Council will also discuss a possible revision to council rules of procedure that would call for a recurring agenda item to allow the mayor and council members the opportunity to report on recent events or activities.

The council will meet Thursday, Jan. 16, at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers at Town Hall. The session is open to the public.

Prior to the regular session the council is scheduled to meet in a closed executive session to discuss in contract with Rural/Metro for emergency fire and medical response services.
