Fountain Hills council approves transportation plan update

Changes sidewalk priorities

The town is working with the Eagle Mountain HOA and Eagle Mountain Golf Club to correct a crosswalk ramp that is too steep.

Downtown sidewalk infill areas have been given a new priority in the town’s Active Transportation Plan.

The Fountain Hills Town Council approved a request to amend the town’s Active Transportation Plan (ATP) at its May 21 session.

The ATP was adopted by the council in 2021 to address non-motor modes of transportation, walking, biking and hiking, with the objective to provide a safe and efficient means for people to get around.

Public Works Director Justin Weldy addressed the council regarding the proposed change.
