Council approves design contract

The Town Council has approved a $105,250 agreement with a consultant for the design of additional improvements at Fountain Park.
This, the final phase of planned improvements in the park, will include pathway lighting, upgrades to the east parking lot, monument signs, informational signs and electrical repairs and upgrades at the amphitheater.
Members were unenthusiastic, however, about the idea of using an LED information sign in the park.
Staff had proposed that one of those signs, along Saguaro Boulevard, include an LED board for information and announcing upcoming events and activities.
Work is expected to begin in June and be completed by late September.
