Corrigan: Here’s where I stand on the issues

Posted

I’m Mathew Corrigan, your Fountain Hills Town Council candidate. I believe in economic vitality, robust public safety, fiscal responsibility and maintaining our quality of life.

For 30 years I worked for two Fortune 500 companies and learned the most valuable tool to success is listening to legitimate concerns and problems and offering solutions. I also owned and operated my own small business and learned many of the challenges of offering a competitive product at a competitive price while keeping quality and integrity at the best possible level.

I know I can and will apply these skills in solving concerns and problems here in Fountain Hills as your town councilman. For over two years I have attended Town Council, Planning and Zoning and School Board meetings and have offered solutions to the public.

So how do I stand on key issues? Let’s compare where I stand on key issues to my incumbent opponent.

Corrigan - Infrastructure spending, a fiscal priority and no pet projects. McMahon - Voted for grand staircase and roundabouts.

Corrigan - supports ordinance to regulate detox facilities to only specified commercial zoning areas in Fountain Hills. McMahon - Voted against detox ordinance in February 2023 Town Council meeting, along with Mayor Dicky, that regulates detox facilities to only commercial areas (5-2 vote).

Corrigan - Opposed very high-density, Scottsdale-style Target center housing. McMahan - Voted for Target center very high-density housing.

Corrigan - 5G broadband must be underground with all other utilities and must be indemnified, insured all paid by 5G provider (Fountain Hills held harmless). McMahan - Voted yes (9/4/24) on ordinance #24-08, permitting uninsured small towers in the right of way on some residential properties.
