The National Weather Service is forecasting a white Christmas for northern Arizona with rain and cool temperatures for the deserts.
A pair of Pacific weather systems will be moving through the state this week bringing rain to the Valley beginning Tuesday and continuing through the week.
The first system will be dropping snow about 6,000 feet through Wednesday. A second system will bring the snow level down to about 3,000 feet Thursday and Christmas Day.

Cool, wet weather through Christmas

The National Weather Service is forecasting a white Christmas for northern Arizona with rain and cool temperatures for the deserts.
A pair of Pacific weather systems will be moving through the state this week bringing rain to the Valley beginning Tuesday and continuing through the week.
The first system will be dropping snow about 6,000 feet through Wednesday. A second system will bring the snow level down to about 3,000 feet Thursday and Christmas Day.
Colder temperatures will return after the storm clears out with overnight lows falling into the 30 in the Phoenix area. The high temperature Saturday with partly sunny skies may only reach 48 degrees in Fountain Hills.
