My dearest friend, Lina Bellenir, former owner of Sorelli’s from the Vine and who is like a sister to me, is running for council in Fountain Hills. I am sending this letter of support to encourage everyone to vote for Lina because she has:
Great ideas to spur the economy of the town.
The only candidate who has private sector experience, therefore understands the plight of business owners in town.

The unselfish compassion to help others which is a critical component of a public servant not a politician.
She is not “steeped in government experience,” which I heard one candidate state as I watched the FHCCA debate, and I believe is a detriment. Career politicians lose touch with constituents, particularly if they have been entrenched anywhere near Washington, D.C.
I first met Lina and her husband Vince as a customer of Sorelli’s from the Vine. I drove all the way from Gilbert because I was intrigued by the business concept. As I walked through the door they welcomed me with open arms. I remember feeling like a welcomed member of the family, not as a customer and made many, many trips from Gilbert to their store because of it.
That first trip was about eight years ago, and even though they voluntarily closed their business due to Vince’s health, our friendship has continued today. Indeed, I am no longer a former customer. Everyone that I know misses Sorelli’s and wishes they would reopen. It was a great asset to Fountain Hills.
Lina will make a fantastic, caring, considerate member of your council. She knows the town’s current day issues, appreciates its history, and wants to be a contributing member especially in the areas of economic development, preservation, family values and a conservative approach for smaller government.
