My family and I have lived in Fountain Hills for over 22 years, moving from the state of California after early retirement from Atlantic Richfield Company.

During this time, I was privileged to serve on the Town Council with three different mayors, several outstanding councilmembers and four town managers during the most difficult years that have faced our community, and the reporting from The Times was sometimes disturbing due to the issues but factual and helpful to the community.

Without a doubt, the management of our Fountain Hills Times under the leadership of Mr. Alan Cruikshank has been outstanding and worth every award that he and the publication have received throughout the years.

The reporting from Bob Burns and the editorial commentaries from Editor Mike Scharnow have been most professional, accurate, fair and at the highest level of journalistic standards.

I stand proud with many residents in applauding all of the staff at this publication and particularly Mr. Alan Cruikshank for more well-deserved awards from his peers in the journalistic arena.

Clearly there will be many years ahead where other significant recognitions will be awarded to him and The Fountain Hills Times.

Thank you gentlemen and ladies that make a great working group serving the Fountain Hills community.
