Congestion

We write to you in regard to further concerns about the impact the proposed senior living facility of three-stories (53 feet) and 185 beds to be located over five acres at the busy intersection of Trevino Drive, Saguaro and Shea Boulevards will have in our neighborhoods.

1. The number, size and frequency of the dirt-hauling vehicles to and from the construction site, plus the traffic and noise impact that will have on Trevino Drive and surrounding residential and commercial areas, streets and intersections for three months or longer.

2. The size of trucks (approximately 10’x25’-40’ long) and width of turning distances needed for such trucks and the resulting impact on residential and commercial traffic utilizing these streets.

3. The length of time needed for dirt hauling (three months or longer) and further year or longer impact to the residential and commercial areas while other construction vehicles access the site.

4. a possible additional traffic impact on Monterey, Burkemo, Saguaro and Shea residential neighborhoods and commercial areas due to construction vehicles blocking Trevino Drive. For example, many employees from the corner businesses (McDonald’s, Circle K, Senor Taco, Gyro’s) now park on Trevino Drive, facing west. Most of these drivers either make u-turns on Trevino Drive or head up Burkemo to Monterey to get to Saguaro. Our concern is that many other vehicles will begin to follow this pattern once construction begins in this area and Trevino Drive becomes congested with dirt-hauling vehicles.

5. A fear that those large trucks and other construction vehicles will begin using Monterey Drive as an alternative entrance to the construction site.

Can we keep our neighborhoods free from all these trucks, traffic and construction noise?
