Saturday, April 14, promises to be a day of fun for the whole family on the Avenue of the Fountains.

The inaugural Fountain Hills Collector Car Show is set for that day.

The charity event will be held on the Avenue of the Fountains starting at 11 a.m. In addition to the cars, the event features food, live music and a beer garden. All proceeds benefit Make-A-Wish Arizona and Four Peaks Rotary charities.

Organizers Dan Margolis, 2017 Chamber of Commerce Businessperson of the Year, and Greg Golucci, who is a member of Four Peaks Rotary, are looking forward to the event.

“The show will appeal to all ages, and the day will be fun for everybody,” Margolis said.

Car check-in is from 8 to 10 a.m. in the library parking lot. At 10:50 a.m. Mayor Linda Kavanagh and special guest Coral Lang will take the stage and make the announcement, “Start your engines.”

After the cars are positioned, a flyover with Jack Fedor’s warbirds will take place at 11 a.m.

The musical lineup is as follows: 11 a.m.-noon, ASU’s Swingband Project; noon-1 p.m., Tommy Holloway; 1-2:30 p.m. Good Boy Daisy; 2:30-4 p.m. School of Rock; 4-5 p.m. Tommy Holloway; and 5-7 p.m. Blacksmith Hand.

“People are going to love the music,” Golucci said. “The kids from School of Rock are just amazing, and all the other groups will provide a good variety of music.”

Awards will be presented to cars in different categories. In addition to Four Peaks Rotary Foundation, Park Place is a major sponsor of the event. The awards ceremony will be held at 4 p.m. Award categories are hotrods, pre-1980; hotrods, post-1980; clean machine; import; truck; factory custom. Awards will be presented in front of the new Park Place, the largest sponsor of the car show.

Judges include Chamber of Commerce Paul Perreault, Gena Perreault, John Coletti, Mike Rosenfeld, Shawn Smith and Nate Judd. Jeremy Berndt, a Ford mechanic from Ripon, Wis., also will judge the cars.
