It was fifteen years ago when America was shocked as two planes were flown by terrorists into the Twin Towers, another plane was flown into the Pentagon and yet another crashed into a field in Pennsylvania. The fifteenth anniversary of that Sept. 11 tragedy falls on a Sunday this year.
Christ’s Church Pastor Don Lawrence said, “We must never forget the tragic loss of life, nor should we forget the incredible bravery of emergency responders who put their lives on the line, many who were ultimately numbered among the fatalities.”
Christ’s Church will hold a special commemorative service on Sunday, Sept. 11, during their 10 a.m. worship service. Those attending the service are encouraged to wear their patriotic colors. Pastor Don Lawrence and Pastor Trent Renner will present a special message titled, “When Your Towers Fall.”

“Terrorism is still prevalent around our world,” Renner said. “We must be diligent in our prayers for our national leaders, military, police forces, emergency responders and any others who are on the front lines in the fight against terrorism.”
A special time of prayer will be observed during the service. The church will recognize emergency responders such as police services, fire services, ambulance personnel, military and others.
“How does one respond to national or worldwide tragedies,” Lawrence asked. “But also, how does one respond to personal tragedies? That will be the focus of our discussion for this service”
Christ’s Church is a non-denominational church. The church is located at 15555 E. Bainbridge Ave., at the corner of Bainbridge and Glenbrook Avenues.
“Visitors are always welcome,” Lawrence added. “We extend a special invitation to the community for this service.”
