Chlorine Curse

“Chlorine Curse” Year 3 – Another baseball season has come to an “almost” perfect ending.

The Chlorine Curse has reared its beautiful head on the Dodgers for the third year in a row. As most D-Back fans recall, after clinching the division at Chase Field in 2013, the Dodgers made the mistake of jumping in the Chase Field pool to celebrate their victory.

That celebration placed the 100-year Chlorine Curse on the Dodgers. Last week the Dodgers lost a game five with the Mets, in their home stadium, with their billion dollar roster, by failing to cover third base on a play that even Little League players can execute flawlessly.

When Lucas Duda drew a walk, Daniel Murphy (now we also have a “Murphy’s Law” factor with the curse) nonchalantly walked from first to second and then when he saw no one was covering third alertly ran to third; he ultimately scored the winning run.

The problem is that when you have a 100-year curse, things like this happen and will joyfully continue to happen. Only 97 years left on the Chlorine Curse.

I’m thinking next year the D-Backs will be the team to snatch victory from the Dodgers in the playoffs and rub the Chlorine Curse in their face once again.
