Cheater, cheater

I'm finally going to fess up and tell the Town of Fountain Hills the real reason I no longer play golf.

Sometime ago I was playing in a club tournament and, at the end of 17 holes, was tied dead even with a man whom I thought was ethical and besides that a very good friend.

I teed off on the 18th first and hit a modest 250-yards to the middle of the fairway, leaving a simple six iron to the pin. My good friend lofted his ball deep into the woods.

Being the golfing gentleman, I helped him look for his ball.

After the permitted five minutes ended I hit my second shot on the green 10 feet from the pin. Then my “friend” said “I found it!”

His next shot came sailing out of the woods, landing three inches from the pin. Now I’m faced with a dilemma: Do I pull the cheaters ball out of my pocket and confront him or keep my mouth shut?
