Charges related to Saguaro collision

Daniel Russell, 32, was taken into custody by Sheriff’s deputies and booked into Maricopa County Jail on Monday, June 15, after he was released from the hospital following the fiery collision on Saguaro Boulevard Sunday, June14.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking that Russell be charged with 10 felony counts along with DUI in connection with the accident.

According to MCSO reports, Russell faces two counts of assault causing serious physical injury, four counts of assault with a dangerous implement and four counts of endangerment. Those are all felony charges.

Daniel Russell, 32, was taken into custody by Sheriff’s deputies and booked into Maricopa County Jail on Monday, June 15, after he was released from the hospital following the fiery collision on Saguaro Boulevard Sunday, June14.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking that Russell be charged with 10 felony counts along with DUI in connection with the accident.

According to MCSO reports, Russell faces two counts of assault causing serious physical injury, four counts of assault with a dangerous implement and four counts of endangerment. Those are all felony charges.

He also facing DUI charges up to and including super extreme DUI with a blood alcohol level in excess of .20, well over twice the legal limit.

Russell told deputies at the scene he had not been drinking, but did not remember what happened. Deputies, paramedics and a witness who helped Russell out of his vehicle all reported a strong odor of alcohol when talking with him.
