The Fountain Hills Women’s Club announced TV news personality, meteorologist, actor and comedian Cory McCloskey will headline the club’s upcoming 50th anniversary celebration.
McCloskey will serve as the guest emcee and provide a standup comedy routine.
The event will also feature a cocktail hour with a cash bar along with a hot-plated luncheon, a unique fashion show presented by Classy-Jazzy boutique, silent and live auctions, a 50/50 cash raffle and a retrospective of the club’s 50 golden years of community service and social programs.
The “Gold in Them Hills” Gala Luncheon is scheduled for Saturday, March 9, from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort at 10438 We-Ko-Pa Way in Fort McDowell.
The event will celebrate the club’s five decades of service to the community and help to fund scholarships for women who live or work in Fountain Hills and for graduating Fountain Hills High School seniors.
The Fountain Hills Women’s Club’s annual luncheon fundraiser traditionally draws attendees of all ages not only from the local community but throughout the Valley area, according to a press release prepared by the event chair, Joanne Colella.
“And yes, men are welcome to come, show their support and enjoy a great afternoon of fun, food and fundraising for a worthy cause,” Colella added.
