Chance for nature's fireworks July 4th

Moisture is on the increase leading to the possibility of the arrival of the real monsoon for the Valley over the holiday weekend.

Those out Friday evening for the July 4th fireworks displays have a 30 percent chance of encountering a thunderstorm, according to the National Weather Service.

The chance of rain and blowing dust will continue through the weekend with a 30 percent chance of a thunderstorm on Saturday. The forecast high temperature for Fountain Hills on Friday and Saturday is 101. The forecast high for Sunday is 103 with a reduced chance of rain.

According to Town of Fountain Hills Community Services Director Mark Mayer, there is no weather contingency for the Fourth of July fireworks display on Friday. If the show has to be cancelled due to the weather it will not be rescheduled, Mayer said. The fireworks production people are simply not available to reschedule, according to Mayer.
