Chamber poised for focus groups, new services

The Chamber of Commerce is moving to attract more businesses and create more excitement for members with a proposed slate of new services.

“Before we begin the planning process, we need to dig deep into the minds of business people to see what people want out of our chamber,” said CEO Scott Soldat-Valenzuela.

A series of focus groups are planned for Friday, June 22, at the Chamber office, 16837 E. Palisades Blvd.

The focus groups are open to local business people and are expected to last no more than an hour. They are scheduled for 7:30 a.m., noon and 4:30 p.m.

Potential services include co-working space, state-of-the-art marketing opportunities, educational resources and varied meeting spaces.

Knoodle, a public relations and marketing firm, is offering the free service. An online survey is also being sent to chamber members and area business people.

Any new services may determine future renovations to the chamber building.

“We would love to see the chamber become a central gathering spot for business people and their supporters,” said Soldat-Valenzuela. “But first we want to see what people think and that’s why we are putting time and effort into focus groups and surveys,” he said.
