The community is invited to join Rabbi Mendy Lipskier of the Chabad of Fountain Hills in “Decoding the Talmud,” a crash course in the Talmud for every thinking Jew.
The Talmud is the central text of Rabbinic Judaism and the primary source of Jewish religious law and Jewish theology.
Held for six Wednesdays starting Feb. 5, participants will learn about the Talmud--the treasury of wisdom, ethics and law that has shaped Jewish life for centuries--and the debates that still challenge Jews today, according to a press release.
Meet the brilliant sages who fill its pages and see why the Talmud matters today.
This six-week course will be given two times each Wednesday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in person at the Chabad and 7 to 8:30 p.m. in person and on Zoom (Meeting ID to be provided upon registration).
The course fee is $79 and includes a textbook if registered by Jan. 20).
The Chabad of Fountain Hills is located at 16830 Avenue of the Fountains.
