With cuts to Arizona’s intake from the Colorado River leading the latest stream of concerns over water security in the desert, representatives from the Central Arizona Project and EPCOR provided upwards of 160 Fountain Hills residents some clarity into the water scene.
During the Future of Water Conversation held Monday, Aug. 3, at the Community Center, a presentation dove into the facts about the state’s water supply and use, and allowed town residents to ask questions.
Most pressing, a 760,000 acre-foot cut from the Colorado River is currently being proposed for Arizona, which amounts to a 14% cut to the CAP pool in which EPCOR shares supply.
