Celebrate the holidays on The Avenue in Fountain Hills

Fountain Hills will have a flurry of activities on the Avenue of the Fountains this coming weekend to kick off the holiday season.

The Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Stroll in the Glow from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2. Stroll the Avenue and enjoy holiday activities including entertainment, cookie decorating and pop-up shopping. At 6 p.m. Santa will arrive to visit with children.

The official lighting of the lights on the Avenue will take place at 5:45 p.m. and at 6:45 the Town of Fountain Hills will host the Roll in the Glow parade of lighted bicycles. The bike parade is free, but preregistration is required at fountainhillsaz.gov/rec.

This year, with weather permitting, there will be a hot air ballon glow from 6 to 8 p.m.

That’s not all that's in store for this weekend. The town is hosting a Holiday Pajama Party on Friday, Dec. 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Community Center. This is an evening of fun and games, crafts, visits and photos with Santa as well as an ice cream sundae and hot cocoa bar.

Seating is first-come first-served, and tickets are $10 per person and preregistration is required. All ages are welcome. Visit fountainhillsaz.gov.

Saturday morning, Dec. 2, from 9 to 11 is the tradition of Breakfast with Santa hosted by Noon Kiwanis and the Town of Fountain Hills. This is a breakfast buffet with cookie decorating, crafts and Santa. The suggested age range for Breakfast with Santa is preschool to third grade. Tickets are $12 per person with seating first come first served. Preregistration is required.

From 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. visit with Sensitive Santa at the Community Center on Saturday, Dec. 2. This event is free, and families with autistic and special need children or loved ones are invited to visit with Santa, enjoy a light snack, coloring stations and take-home crafts.
