Catherine Elizabeth Wood

The family of Catherine Elizabeth (Reynolds) Wood is sad to announce her passing on January 24, 2025, at age 102. She is preceded in death by her husband R. Dixon in 1985, and her son Brian in 2022. She is survived by her daughters Roxanne and Vicki, her son Michael, her brother Bob Reynolds and family, her daughter-in-law Anne, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She was born in Regina, Sask., Canada and received her BSc in Nursing. She met Dixon in Vancouver, BC, where he was a patient and she was his nurse at Shaunessy Hospital. They emigrated to Phoenix after their marriage in 1949 and spent many happy years together raising their family. She was a talented homemaker, a Kiwanianne, a docent at the Phoenix Art Museum, and a volunteer with the Good Samaritan Hospital Auxiliary. After Dixon’s death she resided on her own in Fountain Hills for several decades and was known for her independence and resourcefulness. In her later years she was grateful for the kind assistance of household service providers and personal caregivers. The family wishes to thank her assisted living caregivers in Scottsdale and her hospice care providers.
