Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a vehicle driving into the Chase Bank office in the 16000 block of Avenue of the Fountains on Friday, July 10.
Deputies found that the driver, a 91-year-old woman, had driven over the parking curb, through the hand railing and struck the building breaking two panes of glass next to the entry door.
The woman told deputies she was pulling into the parking spot at the bank when she saw a child running through the parking lot and went to hit the brake but instead she pressed the accelerator, driving over the curb.
