My husband and I have lived in Fountain Hills for 38 years, when we were told the median age was 37. We raised our four children here and have been active in every aspect of this wonderful community. We love its beauty, the small-town feeling while being close to big city accommodations, the camaraderie of families, our church, terrific neighborhood schools and the wonderful community support.
Today the median age is 58 and the schools are consolidating. It’s time to promote Fountain Hills as a family friendly community and showcase our incredible parks, grade A schools, clubs and activities! Support Dr. J and the Fountain Hills Unified School District because he is working incredibly hard to improve the district and bring children back home.
Pass school bonds for the sake of the kids and the community. Young families move to safe, vibrant communities with great schools. They enhance and renew communities and the people.
We all drop over the hill on Palisades and look north at our community and beyond. We are blessed to be able to call it home! But let’s not become Sun City East. It’s a perfect place to raise a family. We were given the distinction of being one of the nation’s Most Playful Cities in 2010, but now playful is designated to those 58 and older. We’re told that the housing market here is too expensive for young families but it’s expensive everywhere. Young families move to safe, vibrant communities with great schools. Please, town council, set aside money to promote Fountain Hills to families!
