Fountain Hills: Mayor's Business Spotlight
(Independent Newsmedia/Bob Burns)
Fountain Hills Mayor Gerry Friedel presents Papaya’z owner Karen Mena Sanchez with a plaque recognizing her business for the Town of Fountain Hills’ Business Spotlight. The family-owned business opened in July 2020 amidst the pandemic and has overcome that challenge to provide clients with special dietary needs. They sell merchandise to support education funds for children living in developing countries. The restaurant opens Thanksgiving Day to provide residents and visitors with options during the Turkey Trot and Thanksgiving Day Parade. Business Spotlight is based on a recommendation from Economic Development Director Amanda Jacobs with input from the business community.
