The Little Bellas girls camp has grown to become a part of the Beti Bike Bash, and organizers say it wouldn’t be the same without their presence in Arizona.
Little Bellas will offer a mountain bike camp on Saturday that focuses on skills, practice and confidence-building in a fun and supportive environment for girls ages eight to 13. The Little Bellas will race in categories and on a course of their own during the race on Sunday.
Founded by mountain bike Olympian Lea Davison, her sister Sabra Davison and avid cyclist and friend Angela Irvine, Little Bellas is a mountain bike organization whose goal is to help young women realize their potential through cycling.
There will be a train of girls riding with both local mentors and Colorado’s finest Little Bellas mentors.
“Our girls get dirty, belly laugh, take risks and build confidence, all with the encouragement of strong female role models,” reads a statement from event organizers.
By creating a community that empowers girls through the sport, Little Bellas emphasizes the importance of goal-setting, promoting healthy lifestyles and recognizing the positive effects of strong female bonds.
While this program is centered around creating camaraderie for girls on bikes, it is most importantly about having fun in a constructive environment.
“When we first brought the Little Bellas to Beti Bike Bash Colorado, there were only nine girls racing,” said Lea Davison, mountain bike Olympian and Specialized Global rider.
“Over five years, we were able to get over one hundred girls racing and participating in the event. We hope to do the same in Arizona. We are incredibly excited to extend that positive energy to girls in Arizona this year and for years to come.”
Registration is open. Little Bellas is primed and ready to launch this fun-filled all girls program. For more information, visit littlebellas.com.
