B&G Club offers summer sports
Posted
The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Scottsdale, McKee Branch of Fountain Hills, is offering a unique “Summer Sports Pass.”
The club is teaming up with the Fountain Hills Soccer Club and Bare Bones Sports to offer an indoor multi-sport program this summer.
“This is a great way to keep your kids active during the hot summer months,” said Kevin Quackenbush, sports and fitness coordinator for the Boys & Girls Club branch.
The sessions include basketball, indoor soccer and dodgeball. Sign up for all three or just individual sports.
Each basketball session will be run by former high school, collegiate and professional players and coaches. Soccer sessions will be run by FHSC’s highly qualified trainers.
Both sessions will feature a high level of instruction, skill development and organized scrimmages.
Each Thursday session will allow participants the opportunity to let loose and have fun with Bare Bones Sports.
Registration began this week and continues through Friday, May 17. Registration packets are available at the McKee Branch, corner of Calaveras and Del Cambre avenues.
Four sessions will be held each week Monday through Thursday from June 3 to Aug. 1.
Basketball will be played Monday and Wednesday; indoor soccer on Tuesdays; with Thursdays reserved for dodgeball.
Co-ed ages 5 to 7 will participate from 5 to 6 p.m. at the club, with ages 8 to 14 playing 6 to 8 p.m.
Cost is $175 for all sports plus a $25 annual membership into the Boys & Girls Club. Basketball alone is $75, while dodgeball and soccer are $50 apiece.
